What is Your Peace Worth

1 Peter 4:7-9
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

I know yesterday I talked about the end being inevitable and we couldn’t do anything about it. Guess what that is still true today, only now you are one day closer. However, don’t let that worry or make you afraid or anxious. Embrace it and then move on and live your life. Above all, love others deeply and offer hospitality to everyone and stop grumbling. Why? Life is just too short to spend it in hate and grumbling all the time.

We have 525, 600 minutes in a year. How many of those minutes do you waste on fights and grumbling over things that are meaningless. When I was a teacher, we use to say, “Pick your battles.” This means learning to know when it is really an issue that needed to be addressed and when to just ignore something and let it go.

Your time is too precious to be wasted on things that do not matter. Jesus came to give you a life and a life more abundantly. Use it to love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Pick your battles today. What is really worth giving up your peace, smile and time.

Lord help me remember today, some battled are just not mine and my peace is too precious to waste. ~amen
