Aroma Redolent of Life

Today’s Scripture…

2 Corinthians 2:14-15
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

Thoughts…

I love how the Message Bible states today’s verses. “And I got it, thank God! In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life.” (2 Corinthians 2:14-15, MSG).

I love scented candles, oils, cookies, pies, and bread baking. Oh and what about a hot tea or cup of coffee. Don’t get me started on spaghetti sauce and garlic bread, Then there are the simple things, like fresh mowed grass, flowers blooming, and rain. I am sure you could add so many more pleasant smells to my list. Isn’t it wonderful that we are on God’s list of pleasant smells?

Think about it for a moment. In this world of garbage and rot, you are a sweet smell. You deliver peace, relaxation, love, warm and safe feelings to others. Your presence and kind words can make someone’s day completely change. The best part is we not only share this intoxication, we pass it on to them. Now, they have a sweet smell to share to those they touch. You see we become a part of one perpetual victory parade.

So what about you today? Are you ready to share some of that an aroma redolent with life.?

Prayer…

Lord, help me find someone that you need me to be a sweet aroma redolent with life. ~amen
