Submit

Scripture

Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Observation

H3359 יָדַע yādaʽ, v. to know, recognize, understand;; to be respected; to be known, make oneself known; to cause to know; to show, teach, make known; to be made aware;

Application

The word submit makes some people cringe. i have even heard people who refuse to put anything like it in their marriage vows. I don’t think they understand what it means. Submit does not mean I am going to give permission for someone to walk all over me, rule me, or enslave me. Submit means getting to know each other and forming a relationship based on respect. In Proverbs, God was asking us to get to know Him learn about him, so we can build our trust in Him. Building that trust is what our relationship with God is all about. Eventually you will trust Him enough to submit all your cares and troubles to Him and He will submit Love to us.. Isn’t that what we reallly want?

Prayer

Lord, today I want to submit my everything to you! ~ Amen
