I’m Here

Today’s Scripture…

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Thoughts…

The holidays can be very rough. You can be in a large crowd and still feel all alone. The pain of a lost loved one, or strained relationships can feel like mountains on your shoulders.

If this is you, I am not going to tell you cheer up, God is near. People mean well, but it never takes the pain away. Instead, I am just going to sit here with you and let you grieve. When you need a hug, I am here. When you need a smile, I am here. When you need to cry, I am here. When you need me to just be quiet, I am here.

I want to show you God’s love. I want to be His ears, eyes, feet and arms. I want to just be here for you when you need and how you need.

Then maybe in a little while you will be ready to pass the love on to another who just needs you here.

Prayer…

Lord thank you for sending me someone to just be here when I need them. Send me to those who need someone today. ~amen

Run To Not Away

Today’s Scripture…

1 Peter 5:7

casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Thoughts…

Have you ever felt like running away? I mean running away from the world. You just want to go sit where no one knows you and you have no cares or problems. I have!

I discovered long ago, there is a place to run to when you feel the world crushing you. It is a place where someone does know you very well. He walks beside you and carries the burden with you. He walks you through your life, so you don’t have to run away from it.

You see when we run to God instead of running away from life, we don’t lose out on all the wonderful things we would miss in our lives.

Prayer…

Lord, thank you for not leaving me alone and carrying my burdens that threaten to crush me. ~amen

Dependable

Today’s Scripture…

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Thoughts…

People often look at this verse as two different concepts. If you really read it, God is making one statement. There is nothing in this world we can rely on except Him. Money and worldly possessions are nice. There is nothing wrong with them. We just can’t depend on them.

Jobs are easily lost. Our health comes and goes. Every new object ages and loses its luster and usefulness. God never runs out. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The best part of that sameness is He is always exactly what you need at exactly the right time. He is never too much or too little. He is always on time, not even a second late.

He sill never leave you or forsake you.

Prayer…

Lord, with you I am never alone and for that I am grateful. ~amen
